Bumps and Cones for Puppies
with Soshana Dos

Saturday July 2, 2011
Canterbury, CT

9-1 Bumps

Laying the foundation for a confident and talented jumping dog can begin as early as 4 months of age.  This workshop will focus on Susan Salo’s methods for safely giving your pup an early understanding of the mechanics and problem solving involved in the task of jumping.  No height will be used; we will be concentrating on the other elements of jump training such as path, distance, and appropriate take-off place.

Dogs should be at least 4 months to one year of age.

2-6 Cones

Cone work is a wonderful way to introduce your puppy to all the handling he will need in his agility career without involving any equipment.  Forward and lateral sends, tight turns, pulls, pushes, front crosses, and rear crosses, 180s and 270s, even dogwalk approaches and discriminations can all be taught at a young age with the use of cones.  Cone work will also teach your puppy drive and focus.

Dogs should be at least 4 months to any age.
